The lack of digitalization in education was considered a problem in Romania even before the pandemic hit and its importance is recognized by the teachers and trainers we talked to.
The research conducted during the DigiVET project underlines that Romanian education and training professionals see the abrupt change to online learning as an opportunity to learn how to use modern technologies in more and better ways. Without the unfortunate context, such impulse would have been further delayed.
In light of this gained momentum, the needs expressed by interviewees in order to hone their digital knowledge and abilities can be broken down into two main categories:
-courses to practice the use of digital equipment
-easy access to resources
As we continue, COVID-19 could be seen as the start to a more modern education system across Europe.
